On 20 October 2026, the Vietnam–Denmark Business Forum was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, jointly organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), in coordination with the Embassy of Vietnam in Denmark. General Secretary and President To Lam and His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark attended and delivered remarks at the opening session.

The Forum brought together representatives of government agencies and business communities from both countries to discuss cooperation in clean energy development, modern logistics, enhanced connectivity, and Vietnam’s role in manufacturing, technology development and investment attraction. The programme included an opening session, an exchange of cooperation documents, two thematic panel discussions and business networking activities.

Speaking at the panel discussion on creating new drivers of growth, developing clean energy and modern logistics, and strengthening connectivity for Vietnam’s next stage of development, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai highlighted two key policy priorities: ensuring energy security through reliable and competitively priced electricity supply; and developing modern connectivity infrastructure and green, smart logistics services that link industrial production with global markets.

On energy, the Deputy Minister stated that Vietnam was focusing on improving its regulatory framework and mobilizing investment resources for power generation, transmission infrastructure and power system operations. Electricity pricing mechanisms and power purchase agreements should enable investors to recover costs, earn reasonable returns and improve access to long-term project financing. At the same time, energy development should be closely linked with the establishment of domestic supply chains, the development of equipment manufacturing industries, technology transfer and workforce training.

Building on Vietnam–Denmark energy cooperation since 2013, the Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the two sides would continue expanding cooperation in renewable energy development, power system modernization and flexibility, competitive electricity markets and energy efficiency. These areas also offer significant opportunities for businesses from both countries to cooperate in investment, technology provision, equipment supply and related services.

Regarding logistics, the Deputy Minister emphasized the need to develop integrated infrastructure and strengthen connectivity among roads, railways, inland waterways, seaports and airports. He also highlighted the importance of developing logistics centres linked to production areas, industrial parks and international trade hubs. In parallel, Vietnam would accelerate digital transformation, promote technology adoption in transport management, warehousing and supply chains, and strengthen governance capabilities, workforce quality and the competitiveness of Vietnamese logistics enterprises.

The Deputy Minister called for stronger cooperation with Denmark in developing green logistics, improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions, while enhancing supply chain connectivity among Vietnam, Denmark and Europe. Potential areas of cooperation include international transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing, cold-chain logistics and goods distribution, thereby helping enterprises expand market access, optimize costs and improve the efficiency of goods movement.

Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai reaffirmed that energy and connectivity infrastructure are two closely interrelated foundations for sustainable industrial development. Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade would continue improving its institutional framework and business environment, while welcoming Danish partners to contribute through investment, technology transfer and human resource development. These efforts would help strengthen substantive and effective economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
