Organised by the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden, a delegation of 36 representatives from nearly 20 Nordic businesses took part in an extensive programme at Viet Nam International Sourcing 2026 (VIS 2026). Their activities ranged from sourcing and market development to investment, technology, logistics and the green transition.

During VIS 2026, the delegation held nearly 80 business-to-business meetings at the event. Members also met with companies, assessed business opportunities and visited factories in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Tay Ninh and other locations.

The programme covered a wide range of sectors. In textiles and garments, H&M returned to VIS for the second consecutive year, with its own stand, participation in industry forums and meetings with dozens of Vietnamese companies. Outside the event, its delegation continued discussions on trade remedies, retail development, renewable energy and the direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) mechanism.

CIRKA AB advanced cooperation on circular textiles through meetings with businesses, associations and research organisations. It also put forward an initial proposal for a pilot project to return secondary textile materials to Viet Nam’s production chain.

In food and consumer goods, Swedish and Latvian companies continued to seek products, suppliers and distribution channels. East Asian Food AB attended VIS for the third time to expand its sourcing of Vietnamese products. Lagerqvist AB sought both Vietnamese suppliers and partners to distribute Swedish products in Viet Nam. The Latvian delegation broadened its connections in food, beverages and distribution, while exploring opportunities to invest in production in Europe.

In industry and maritime services, Clarksons met with shipbuilding companies at VIS and visited shipyards in southern Viet Nam and Hai Phong. It assessed their capacity for ship construction and repair and their ability to fulfil technically demanding orders for Nordic and Baltic clients.

A defining feature of this year’s programme was the breadth of discussions beyond buying and selling. Meetings also covered investment, technology development, the circular economy, green energy, logistics and long-term supply chains.

VIS 2026 gave Nordic businesses direct insight into Viet Nam’s production capabilities. Vietnamese companies, in turn, gained a clearer understanding of market requirements, from quality, technical standards and traceability to sustainability and innovation.

With a larger delegation, a wider range of sectors and more substantive connections, VIS 2026 continued to serve as an important meeting point for Vietnamese and Nordic businesses. It also opened opportunities for cooperation in investment, technology and more sustainable value chains.
