On the sidelines of the Vietnam International Sourcing (VIS) 2025 Fair, with the connection and support of the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden, the delegation from Gothenburg Port (Sweden) held a working session with the Vinatex Product Development & Trading Center (Vinatex PD&B).

Founded with the mission of becoming a “one-stop destination” providing end-to-end solutions for global fashion customers, Vinatex PD&B plays an important role in building a strong knitted-fabric supply chain, leveraging the scale and reputation of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex). The Center ensures a closed supply chain from spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing to garment manufacturing, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnam’s textile and garment industry amid market fluctuations.

Equipped with modern facilities that meet international standards and guided by a green and sustainable orientation aligned with Vinatex’s Net Zero emission target, the center focuses on FOB (Free on Board, proactive in materials), ODM (Original Design Manufacturing), and OBM (Original Brand Manufacturing) business models. Vinatex PD&B provides comprehensive solutions for customers—from design and material selection to production—supported by extensive showrooms and fabric libraries. In addition, the center features a creative studio and an international-standard laboratory to meet sample development and quality-testing needs for long-term clients.

During the meeting, Mr. Vuong Duc Anh, Director of Vinatex PD&B, shared that the center has already received several garment export orders to the Nordic market via Gothenburg Port. Although the current shipping frequency remains limited, with its flexible production model and trend-aligned focus on minimalist, eco-friendly fashion and 3D design applications, the export volume is expected to grow significantly in the near future.

Representatives from Gothenburg Port affirmed their support in promoting and developing the Vinatex PD&B brand in Sweden and the broader Nordic region. They also pledged assistance in logistics and warehousing services when necessary. Transporting textile and garment products through Gothenburg Port, in combination with the port’s railway connections to Nordic markets, will not only help reduce costs in this highly competitive sector but also contribute to lower carbon emissions, in line with global sustainability trends.

Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation to promote Vietnam–Sweden trade, particularly in the textile and garment sector—a key Vietnamese export strength—thus contributing to the establishment of a direct maritime shipping route between the two countries in the near future.
