Global fashion giant H&M will send a high-level sourcing delegation to participate in the Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 event, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in coordination with the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The event will take place from September 4–6, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). This marks H&M’s first official presence at Viet Nam International Sourcing, alongside several Nordic companies, signaling growing interest and a notable shift toward sourcing from Vietnamese suppliers. It also reflects the rising global profile of Vietnam’s export sector.
Nordic Businesses Continue Their Commitment
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden, this year’s Nordic business delegation has again been carefully organized with the Trade Office’s support. The group includes leading names in retail, consumer goods, logistics, and sustainable manufacturing. The participation of H&M, one of the world’s largest fashion groups, is particularly noteworthy, offering new collaboration opportunities for Vietnamese companies in fashion, textiles, and sustainable supply chains.
In previous years, notably 2023 and 2024, the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden also facilitated Nordic business delegations to attend Viet Nam International Sourcing. Companies such as IKEA, the Port of Gothenburg, F&H, and Scanesia joined to explore sourcing opportunities, conduct site visits, and several subsequently established cooperation agreements with Vietnamese businesses.
A Positive Signal for Deeper Trade Connectivity
With its global operations and commitment to building a green supply chain, H&M is considered a pioneer in promoting transparency, sustainability, and social responsibility. Its attendance at Viet Nam International Sourcing not only offers direct business opportunities for Vietnamese suppliers but also helps raise the international image of Vietnamese products and enterprises. It reaffirms the event’s status as a reputable sourcing platform for global brands seeking partners in Vietnam.
Focus on Sustainable Supply Chains
Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 will once again be held at SECC with expanded scale, featuring over 500 exhibiting enterprises and approximately 300 international sourcing delegations. Key sectors include food & beverages, consumer goods, furniture, fashion, raw materials and accessories, and supporting industries.
In addition to the exhibition, the fair will host a series of side events, including thematic seminars, B2B matchmaking, factory and industrial zone tours, and market briefings. These activities will focus on export standards for the European market, green transition, logistics, and international brand development.
Opportunities for Vietnamese Businesses
H&M’s participation this year is a clear testament to the potential of Vietnamese suppliers to meet stringent European standards. The event provides a critical platform for domestic businesses to access major sourcing networks, strengthen their integration into global value chains, and position themselves in high-value sectors.
This year’s edition promises to be more than just a meeting point for supply and demand—it will also serve as a forum for knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and discovering effective collaboration models. It comes at a time when Vietnam is becoming more deeply integrated into the global economy and increasingly central to international supply chains.
Major Nordic Companies to Visit Vietnam for Sourcing Opportunities
Leading Nordic companies such as H&M, the Port of Gothenburg, GFI Stockholm, and East Asia Food are planning to visit Vietnam in search of new sourcing opportunities.
Speaking to the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Thuy – Director General and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden – shared that the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), in coordination with the Embassy and the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden (also covering Latvia), recently organized an online seminar titled “Gateway to Vietnam.” The event drew significant attention from Latvian businesses seeking cooperation and expansion opportunities in Asia, particularly Vietnam – a dynamic and high-potential market.
The seminar served as an opportunity to provide an overview of Latvia–Vietnam trade and investment relations, while highlighting Vietnam’s favorable business environment, investment incentives, and competitive advantages within the global supply chain. It also marked the start of preparations for a business delegation from Latvia to visit Vietnam, scheduled for September 2–11, 2025, organized by LCCI and the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden.
Speakers at the seminar included representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden, the Department of Overseas Market Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), LCCI representatives in Vietnam, as well as experts and Latvian entrepreneurs currently living and working in Vietnam. Their practical insights and diverse perspectives offered Latvian businesses a clearer understanding of Vietnam’s cooperation potential in the near future.
This activity is part of the promotional campaign for Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025, a flagship trade promotion event directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and led by the Department of Overseas Market Development. The fair aims to help Vietnamese companies integrate more deeply into global production and supply chains, and to directly connect them with international distribution networks, importers, and retailers.
This year’s edition will take place from September 4 to 6, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring more than 10,000 square meters of exhibition space. It will gather hundreds of manufacturers and exporters along with international buyers attending industry-specific seminars and targeted B2B matchmaking sessions.
In addition to the Latvian delegation being prepared, more than 10 Swedish companies have already confirmed their attendance in partnership with the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden. These include notable firms such as H&M, the Port of Gothenburg, GFI Stockholm, and East Asia Food.
Speaking with Industry and Trade Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Thuy emphasized that after three consecutive years, Viet Nam International Sourcing has gained significant momentum, reflected in a clear increase in the number of foreign companies participating this year compared to previous editions. The event’s organization has also become more professional, creating better opportunities for businesses on both sides to strengthen trade ties.
In the 2023 and 2024 editions, the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden (also covering the Nordic region) successfully organized sizable Nordic business delegations across various sectors to attend the fair. These visits allowed Nordic companies to gain deeper insights into the Vietnamese market and explore cooperation potential across multiple areas — from logistics to manufacturing — paving the way for new business partnerships.
For example, the Port of Gothenburg attended the 2023 fair, where it established connections with Vietnamese partners. Recognizing Vietnam’s potential, it began working with Saigon Newport Corporation and prepared to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote direct import–export flows between Vietnam and Sweden via the Port of Gothenburg and terminals under Saigon Newport. This MOU was officially signed in September 2024.
Viet Nam International Sourcing has been held annually by the Ministry of Industry and Trade since 2022. Through the fair, many novel Vietnamese products have been introduced to the Nordic market — including shredded green papaya and frozen Vietnamese baguettes.
