The Vietnam National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) is inviting domestic and international banks to compete to arrange financing for eight transmission projects in Việt Nam. An EVN announcement published on 8 October puts the combined borrowing requirement at EUR200.9 million, alternatively expressed as VNĐ6,159 billion. The invitation is a financing step for planned infrastructure, not confirmation that loan agreements have been signed or that the capital has been disbursed.

The portfolio covers 220 kV and 500 kV substations and connecting transmission lines in northern and southern Việt Nam. Projects include the Ứng Hòa and Tân Việt substations, the Đông Anh–Vân Trì line, Bến Cát 2, Long An, Lý Nhân and Thanh Hà substations, and the Bắc Ninh 500 kV–Bắc Ninh 4 line. EVNNPT is the investor, with its transmission project management boards responsible for managing implementation.

Long An’s 500 kV substation and connecting line have the largest stated borrowing requirement, EUR39 million or VNĐ1,194 billion. The Đông Anh–Vân Trì line requires EUR35.3 million, Bến Cát 2 requires EUR31.6 million and the Bắc Ninh line requires EUR29.5 million. The remaining requirements range from EUR13.3 million to EUR20.1 million. These figures describe financing needs for individual projects; they should not be read as amounts already committed by banks or as a statement of each project’s total investment cost.

EVN states that proposals must arrive before 08:30 on 27 November 2026. They are to be submitted to EVNNPT’s Finance and Accounting Department, Room B219, at 27, alley 68/37 Cầu Giấy Street, Nghĩa Đô Ward, Hà Nội. The financing invitation is identified as Official Letter 5469/EVNNPT-TCKT. Interested lenders will need the underlying documentation to establish the required terms and assessment process.

According to the operator, the projects are intended to strengthen transmission links, relieve existing lines and substations and improve supply reliability in areas with rising electricity demand. Government News identifies industrial and urban demand in Hà Nội, Hải Phòng and Bắc Ninh, alongside high-load areas in southern Việt Nam. This gives the programme wider manufacturing relevance beyond the operator itself. For commercial partners, the immediate actionable development is the financing competition; future improvements in electricity availability depend on successful funding, construction and commissioning.
