On the sidelines of the Viet Nam International Sourcing (VIS) Fair 2025, with the support and coordination of the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden, a delegation from Gothenburg Port (Sweden) held a working session with the Nordic Chamber of Commerce (NCC) in Ho Chi Minh City. The meeting offered both sides an opportunity to share updates, exchange information, and discuss cooperation directions in logistics, maritime transport, and bilateral trade promotion.

During the session, representatives of Gothenburg Port presented an overview of their participation in VIS 2025 and emphasized efforts to identify partners and advance plans for establishing a direct maritime shipping route between Viet Nam and Sweden. This route is expected to shorten cargo transit times, reduce logistics costs, and thereby enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese exports to Nordic and EU markets.

From NCC’s side, chamber representatives shared an overview of recent trade and investment activities of Nordic enterprises in Viet Nam. In addition to maintaining existing projects, the Nordic business community has been actively implementing various trade promotion programs and networking seminars to help enterprises on both sides explore cooperation opportunities in potential sectors such as textiles and garments, supporting industries, green technologies, renewable energy, and consumer goods.

Notably, NCC expressed its intention and plans to participate in VIS 2026, including setting up an exhibition booth to present Nordic companies and market opportunities as a whole. This will create valuable opportunities for international importers, distributors, and retailers to directly connect with Nordic products and services, while opening broader prospects for deeper collaboration between Nordic and Vietnamese businesses.
