On the sidelines of the Viet Nam International Sourcing (VIS) Fair 2025, with the support and coordination of the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden, a delegation from Gothenburg Port (Sweden) held a working session with the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) in Ha Noi. The meeting aimed to strengthen connections, exchange information, and explore opportunities for cooperation in logistics and maritime transport between Viet Nam and Sweden.
During the session, representatives of Gothenburg Port presented an overview of the largest port system in Northern Europe, its shipping services, cargo handling, and logistics solutions, while expressing particular interest in VLA’s operations and member enterprises. The delegation also learned more about VLA’s efforts to strengthen and develop Viet Nam’s transport and logistics services network, especially as the country integrates more deeply into global supply chains.
VLA representatives provided information on a major upcoming international event—the FIATA World Congress 2025, to be held in Ha Noi from 6 to 10 October 2025. This annual global logistics event brings together leading experts, thought leaders, and businesses in transport, logistics, and freight forwarding. FIATA is a non-governmental organization with 113 member associations, over 6,000 individual members, and represents more than 40,000 logistics companies worldwide.
FIATA World Congress 2025 holds special significance as it coincides with the 99th anniversary of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA). The event is expected to attract more than 1,200 delegates from 150 countries and territories. Under the theme “Green Logistics – Fast Adaptation,” it will serve as a global forum to share experiences, foster cooperation, and propose innovative initiatives for sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics development.
In parallel, VLA also introduced the Viet Nam International Logistics Exhibition 2026 (VILOG 2026), scheduled for 30 July to 1 August 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, themed “Green Logistics – The Foundation for Sustainable Development.” This exhibition will provide a platform for industry leaders, logistics enterprises, and international partners to exchange solutions to one of today’s biggest challenges: developing logistics in line with sustainability and social responsibility goals.
Concluding the meeting, both sides discussed ways to promote Gothenburg Port to the Vietnamese logistics business community and explored practical avenues for cooperation, such as sharing expertise in modern port management, providing technical support, and fostering the establishment of a direct maritime shipping route between Viet Nam and Northern Europe.
